Music at Penn Alps provides a unique addition to the cultural life of the Tri-State Region, offering principally chamber music and occasional American music concerts from June through August. The only even vaguely similar opportunity is provided by Garrett Lakes Arts Festival but the intimacy and small ensemble experience is unique to us!

What it costs

Music at Penn Alps is committed to bringing the best musical talent to the Tri-State region. By keeping our administrative costs to a minimum, we are able to allocate most of our budget to the music in the form of artist fees and lodging. Our board is completely volunteer.

As you can see in the graphs below, all of our revenue goes into the music! The only non-musical expenses are for accounting and administration. There are no paid members on the board.

What we offer

We offer a series of chamber music concerts plus occasional concerts dedicated to indigenous American music. Many performers are graduates of distinguished conservatories and are members of prominent symphony orchestras. Each year, our musicians come from all over America and Europe as well as an occasional performer from the rest of the world.

How you can support us

Music at Penn Alps is a non-profit organization so all contributions are tax-deductible. We are largely supported by the private sector since our primary venue — the Great Hall at Penn Alps — is not handicapped-accessible. We do have some grant support from government entities for concerts in the Chapel (which is handicapped-accessible).
